Trust Board
Members
Keri Usherwood
- (Chair)
Keri
has been a passionate Notts fan since arriving in Nottingham from north of
the border in the mid-70's. His proudest moment came when he donned the
"Mr. Magpie" outfit for a league game at Meadow Lane a couple of seasons
ago. Keri became involved with the Trust because "There's just no way we
can stand by and let our Football Club go under - simple as that".

(Vice-Chair)
I
am originally from Clifton and now live with my wife 'south of the river'
in West Bridgford. I started going to Notts matches during the golden age
Jimmy Sirrels' reign back in 1981, though I am at least the third
generation of Notts fan in my family. Before it was knocked down I used to
stand on the Main Stand terrace at the Meadow Lane end, these days I can
be found the Jimmy Sirrell stand Z block. My day job is designing and
writing software for automated warehouses.Email:

John Collin
(Secretary)
John
Collin, recently elected Trust Board Member and Secretary, says
“I was born and brought up in Nottingham and have been a regular Notts
County watcher since the early 1960’s. I am married (to a lapsed Forest
supporter) and have two grown up children who both have an affinity to
Notts County, thank goodness. I started off watching Notts in the early
1960’s on the Kop (sometimes with my fishing umbrella) and now I watch
from the Derek Pavis Stand.
I am a Chemist by profession and over the years I have worked for
companies both big and small and have been privileged to serve as a
Councillor on two councils. In my time, I have also been Secretary of a
large angling association in Nottingham
Over the years, Chairmen and Managers have come and gone but there has
been a continuity in watching the team of Lawton and Sewell, of Astle
and Hateley and of Jimmy Sirrel and Don Masson. That continuity has been
important in my life and I guess in the lives of many others. The
significance of Notts County, however, goes much further, beyond the
crowds who actually watch. The Trust gives an avenue for both watchers
and non-watchers to be involved in the ownership of the Club.
I was persuaded to put myself forward to be a Trust Board Member because
I wanted to help. The Trust concept is a very new and interesting one
and in my view there is a need to involve and continue to involve people
from all sorts of backgrounds with a wide range of expertise.
I hope Notts County will continue to inject pleasure (!!) into people’s
lives for many, many years.”Email:

(Publicity)
I
attended my first game at Meadow Lane about 38 years ago as a young lad of
four or five when my dad took me and my elder brother during the Masson/Bradd/Crickmore
era. The three of us continue to go together today, all of us a lot older
but obviously no wiser. My professional life is as a project manager for
central government developing environmental projects for remediating
pollution from abandoned coal mines. I am also a Fellow of the Royal
Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
I have a houseful of women (two daughters and a wife) to keep me in check
and live in the small village of Hose in the Vale of Belvoir.

I
went to my first match at Meadow Lane in 1974, and despite having a father
who supported "the other lot" I've always been a true Magpie. I was part
of the original working group who helped set up the Trust, indeed, the
initial meeting in January 2003 was held in my dining room! I have played
an active part as one of the "Gang of Four" who organised the successful
Dinner/Auction last November, have always been a regular "bucket shaker"
and assisted with the Legends Game that raised over £40,000. In "real
life" I live in West Bridgford with my fiancée, cocker spaniel (a paid up
junior member of the Trust) and sell (whisper it) Junk MailEmail:

I
am a Councillor with Nottingham City Council and I come from a long line
of Notts County supporters which is rumoured to stretch back to 1862. I
have followed Notts for 48 years and travel to away matches with my uncle
who has supported Notts for 67 years. I will do whatever it takes to
ensure that my beloved football team continues to exist.

John
Armstrong-Holmes (Commercial/Corporate Membership)
As
the third generation of my family to support Notts County I have 'black &
white' blood and I briefly 'lived the dream' by playing for the 'A' team
before my career was curtailed by injury. I've supported Notts since 1955
but, in a business sense, became more actively involved in 1982 when I was
asked to become a commercial/marketing development consultant - unpaid, of
course! Apart from publishing the programme for many years, I was also
instrumental in arranging Club/shirt sponsorship deals with the likes of
Monarch, Wrangler, Home Ales, Home Bitter, KLG, East Midlands Ceramics
and, latterly, Fascia Mania. Amongst other commercial activities I was
heavily involved in the successful launch of Lifeline back in 1987. I'm a
long-term Vice-President and a shareholder [now former]. My confidence in
various consortia proved to be ill-founded and convinced me that it was
vital that the Trust had a major say in running our Club. As a former
County Council group leader and the managing director of a successful
Nottingham-based company who is fairly well known in the community, I feel
I have the skills to negotiate with commercial and government agencies in
order to enhance the Trust's role in securing our Football Club's future.

I
attended my first game at Meadow Lane on Thursday August 29th 1963 with
a
0-3 defeat to Coventry City, standing on the Old Kop with my Dad and
thus following a long family tradition. This should probably have taught
me a lesson, but in hindsight provided me a perfect grounding to cope
with some of torment of the next 43 years. There has also been some very
memorable highlights during these years, notably the Sirrel/Wilkinson
era, our annual Wembley pilgrimage under Warnock and, albeit brief, very
dramatic times with big Sam. Some of my most treasured memories emerged
during these times which are still fondly remembered at family
gatherings.
My professional life is as a Sales and Marketing Manager for a leading
US industrial automation provider, dealing with a range of blue chip
companies including Nestle, Cadburys, Thames Water, and Kodak. This
involves organising, developing and delivering sales/marketing
initiatives with customers and partners.
I live in Clifton Village, which I'm also the Chairman of the Village
Residents Association, with a household of women, a wife and two
daughters now both at University but who still regularly return home for
free board and lodgings.

I'm a recent convert to the Notts cause, having moved down to the city from Merseyside in 2001. I was persuaded to go along to Meadow Lane in the Great Escape season, and have become slowly addicted to the club's cause since then - probably as much because of the off the pitch drama as the football itself. I was brought onto the Trust board in March 2006 and my current project is a full redesign of the Trust's website.
I work for a software house in Hucknall, and live in Radcliffe On Trent. During games I can be found in the Pavis stand, glaring at the referee.
