Notts Saved!- 4th December 2003
The wait is finally over. After a record 534 days in administration, the Blenheim Consortium, which comprises local business people and the Notts County Supporters Trust, has completed the takeover of Notts County Football Club thereby securing the future of the world's oldest professional football league Club.
The integral involvement of Notts County Supporters Trust in the takeover means that supporters will for the first time in the club’s history have a significant shareholding in Notts County Football Club. Furthermore, the Trust’s investment secures a fan representative at boardroom level.
Main Points:
- Notts’ future at Meadow Lane guaranteed for 150 years
- The club has no debts, apart from those that are ‘internal’ (i.e. loans taken out by individual investors)
- The Trust now owns a 30.2% shareholding in Notts County Football Club
- That means that if you are a member of the Trust you now have a share in NCFC
- Trust representative at boardroom level
- Agreement for the Trust to increase shareholding in the future when shares become available
Thank You - The level of support given to us from fans of not just Notts County but other clubs has been absolutely phenomenal. Regardless of their own allegiance, football fans around the country have made it clear that, for the good of football as a whole, the world’s oldest league club must survive. Thank you for your support.
